What is BCS?
Body Condition Score is a 1–9 scale used by vets to assess fat coverage on a cat's body.
How to assess BCS
Run your hands along your cat's sides. If ribs are easily felt but not visible, that's BCS 5 (ideal).
Obesity Risk
Overweight cats are at higher risk for diabetes, arthritis, and urinary disease.
